I had an incredible experience at Chimba, and I couldn't recommend it more! We decided to stop by on a whim for happy hour, unsure if we wanted a full meal. Upon arriving, we were greeted warmly with a smile and introduction by Ornella and immediately seated at an outdoor table. Our server, Alexis, was amazing --he made us feel right at home, asked if it was our first visit, and took the time to understand our taste preferences before recommending meal options and drinks. The food was absolutely scrumptious--highlights were the octopus chicharrón, patacón, and the delicious empanadas (pork and beef, chicken, and shrimp). Each dish was flavorful, fresh, and expertly prepared. For drinks, we went with the Mexican mule and a spicy guava margarita--both were refreshing, strong, and absolutely mouthwatering. The ambiance is stunning, with an upscale Miami-Tulum vibe, and the location right in the heart of Wynwood made it even better. What stood out the most was the attention to detail--waitstaff like Felipe were on top of everything, ensuring we had everything we needed, while manager Agustin made frequent rounds to check in on our experience, which added a personal touch to our visit. Everyone who works here stays on top of service and has a great sense of disposition to provide a top notch customer experience. Chimba truly checked all the boxes--delicious food, creative cocktails, and impeccable service. Whether you're here for a casual drink or a full meal, I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience! This place checked all my boxes and went above beyond in every aspect.
On a one day layover in Miami, I decided to see what people recommended to try. I went with Chimba, and it was well worth the uber ride there and back. They have an awesome happy hour menu, where I got a drink, empanadas, and pork y hatacon all for $28 (before tax and tip). The empanadas were crispy, the shrimp with a creamy filling and the beef with olives. The hatacon was my favorite because I love pulled pork and fried plantain. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and I had a great chat with my waiter who immediately pinned me from out of town (lol). They regularly filled water, asked how the food was, and even after dinner while I was waiting for an uber came out to check if I was okay. I think I'd definitely come back ready to try more of their awesome cocktail list and diverse entrees. Sidenote: An 18% gratuity is automatically applied to the bill no matter the party size. Here's your heads up beforehand.
This is a hidden gem in Midtown! I am so happy to have stumbled upon this restaurant because I will definitely be going back. The menu consists of latin american dishes and popular peruvian meals that were packed with flavor. I genuinely loved every dish I tried. The empanadas and birria arepa are absolute must. We also got the pumpkin ravioli which seemed odd for this type of restaurant but was bomb! We got the chaufa rice and octopus as well and loved both. The service was also very good and the waiter was attentive the entire night. The music and vibes were so fun for a date night or night out with friends.
We had a fantastic lunch at Chimba for my husband's 50th birthday while exploring Wynwood during art week! It was the perfect spot to relax at the vibrant and neon bright bar. Their cocktails were delicious--I had a spicy margarita, and my husband enjoyed a craft beer from a local brewery. He loved it! We started with shrimp empanadas, which were amazing, and the patacón & pork was a highlight. That pulled pork elevated the fried plantain which was topped with cheese and hogao, just fantastic! I also tried the grilled molleja (sweetbread) with lemon focaccia and chimichurri. It was good, but I think it could be even better with a little twist. Overall, Chimba was a great addition to our birthday celebration, and I definitely recommend it for a fun meal in Wynwood!
Excellent service and happy hour options (5-7) for both cocktails and quick bites made for a lovely evening. The decor is a mix of interesting natural and bright pops of color. Tables along the wall have a sofa side and a chair side. Servers thoughtfully placed happy hour/adult dinner dates away from a more casual family party that was wrapping up. The bites include an elote, Brussels with bacon, and empanadas all of which were tasty and well presented. My huacachina sour was also a nice note with pisco and pineapple.
Came here earlier today for a Miami Spice lunch with a group of close friends. We were very delighted by the drinks, the Miami Spice menu, and the overall ambience. The only reasons why I had to omit a star was because of the parking situation (the lot is tiny, so street parking is your best bet followed by garage parking... but it also didn't help that there was major construction so there was traffic) and the slow service during their shift transition that almost cost my gorl friend to miss her Brightline train. I've listed all the dishes I've tried in the photos so let me share today's Spice favorites from Chimba: Best Spice Appetizer -- shrimp empanada (unexpectedly big and STUFFED with so much shrimp and flavor) Best Spice Entree -- house burger (that was the juiciest burger and the pretzel bun kept its integrity) Best Spice Dessert -- key lime tres leches (the lime was not overpowering the cake part, the merengue was very creamy, and the cookie crumbles gave a nice texture to dish for crunch factor) Chimba curated a very good menu for Miami Spice this year, leaving me wanting to return for their regular menu!
Chimba is right around the corner for me, so I finally decided to stop in for a quick drink and dinner! I came in during happy hour, so we ordered a glass of wine which was $7. There were plenty of cocktails on the happy hour as well as some bites. Their dinner menu is pretty small so I honestly wasn't sure what to order but we landed on the skirt churrasco and Pulpo as the waiter recommended them. The skirt churrasco was really good but I think it was overpriced for what it was--0 sides, by the way. The Pulpo was also good and came with some potatoes. The restaurant itself is very hip inside. Nice atmosphere!
Stopped by here for happy hour and I was not disappointed! Their happy hour menu was quite extensive and not limited to a few drink options. The empanadas were superb! The pastry shell was soft, and fluffy. The fillings?? Delicious. The beef was great but the mushroom!!! 10/10 recommend you should try it. It was different but so glad I tried it. The cocktails are crafted with great attention to detail, it was really good. Highly recommend!
So if you are looking for a cute date night spot or just a place to enjoy some yummy food without the total rah rah of the Miami night life this is a good spot to check out . Service : 5/5 Food: 4/5 Cleanliness : 5/5 Favorite food that I tried was the shrimp empanada Please note I started eating my food before taking pictures
I came to Chimba a while ago for a special Yelp event and knew I definitely needed to come back! I came by on the weekend during happy hour, which is everyday from 4-7pm. A happy hour every day is definitely a treat! Chimba is beautifully decorated. Both modern, warm, and colorful. There's ample indoor, outdoor, and bar area seating. The menu has a lot of great Latin American food options + lots of drinks (wine, beer, cocktails) Their happy hour menu has a few wines, beers, and cocktails on special. It also has a couple of bites. We ordered a couple of wine glasses, a beer, and a prosecco, along with the elote and broken potatoes. Both happy hour portions were alarmingly small compared to the regular size appetizers and you only save a couple of $. Word of advice - order the regular appetizers, it's worth the price and portion. Now for the star of the show - the spinach gnocchi. Wow! The flavors are amazing. It really is a dish that's outside the box and tastes amazing. A bit crunchy and spicy. My mom ordered a salad and grilled avocado and that was also quite good. For dessert we tried the flan and were a bit underwhelmed but the dulce de leche and coconut bits really added to it. Service was a mixed bag. Our initial server was more attentive than the second server but he left out of nowhere and didn't say "hey this is your new server" so that was quite odd. The staff member helping the server was really kind and friendly so that was a plus. Definitely would come back here soon and try other things on the menu!
